AEG Induction Hobs

Shop AEG induction hobs in 60cm, 70cm, 80cm and 90cm formats, including conventional induction and models with integrated extraction. Compare cooking zones, flexible Bridge functions, assisted cooking sensors, SaphirMatt finishes and installation dimensions to find the right hob for your kitchen.

Choosing an AEG induction hob

Start with the space available in your worktop, then compare the number and arrangement of cooking zones. A standard four-zone hob is suitable for many kitchens, while wider AEG induction hobs can provide five or six cooking zones or larger flexible cooking areas for oversized pans and griddles.

AEG also offers induction extractor hobs that combine the cooking surface and extractor in one appliance. These need additional planning below the worktop for the motor, filters and airflow system, so installation requirements differ significantly from a conventional induction hob.

Feature What it does Useful when
Bridge Links two neighbouring cooking zones so they can operate together You regularly use a griddle, plancha or other long cookware
FlexiBridge Lets multiple induction segments be combined in different configurations You want more flexibility over the size and position of cookware
MultiBridge Provides linked cooking zones on more than one area of the hob You frequently cook with several large pans at the same time
TotalFlex Provides a more flexible induction surface with greater freedom over pan position You regularly change pan sizes and positions while cooking
SenseBoil Detects rising bubbles and reduces the heat towards a controlled simmer You want help preventing water from boiling over
Sense Boil+Fry Uses assisted cooking sensors to regulate temperature during boiling and frying You want more automated temperature control
SaphirMatt Uses a matt black, fingerprint-resistant glass surface designed for improved scratch resistance You prefer a matt finish and want visible marks and scratches reduced
Hob2Hood Allows a compatible hob and AEG cooker hood to communicate so extraction can respond to cooking You are pairing the hob with a compatible separate cooker hood

AEG 60cm, 80cm and 90cm induction hobs

Nominal width is one of the first decisions when choosing an induction hob. A 60cm model suits many standard kitchen layouts, while wider 80cm and 90cm models provide additional cooking space and can accommodate larger or more numerous pans. Selected induction extractor hobs are also available in approximately 70cm and 80cm formats.

Do not use the nominal size alone when replacing an existing appliance. Check the exact overall width, depth, worktop cut-out and clearance requirements for the individual model. An AEG hob marketed as 60cm, for example, may have an actual appliance width slightly above or below 600mm.

Bridge, FlexiBridge, MultiBridge and TotalFlex explained

AEG Bridge induction hobs

The Bridge function joins two compatible cooking zones to create one larger cooking area. The linked zones share temperature and timing settings, making the feature useful for long cookware such as griddles and fish pans.

AEG FlexiBridge induction hobs

FlexiBridge provides a larger flexible area made from several induction segments. Depending on the model, these segments can be grouped in different ways so that the cooking area better matches the cookware being used.

AEG MultiBridge induction hobs

Selected wider AEG models provide linked zones on more than one part of the hob. This is useful when two large pieces of cookware need flexible cooking areas simultaneously.

AEG TotalFlex induction hobs

TotalFlex provides greater freedom to place and move compatible cookware across the induction surface. It is particularly useful for cooks who frequently change between different pan sizes rather than relying on fixed circular zones.

AEG SenseBoil and assisted cooking

Selected AEG induction hobs include sensors designed to assist with temperature control. SenseBoil detects rising bubbles as water reaches boiling point and automatically lowers the power towards a controlled simmer.

Selected higher-specification models also combine boiling and frying assistance. These features are model specific, so check the individual product specification rather than assuming every 7000 or 8000 Series hob includes the same sensors.

AEG SaphirMatt induction hobs

SaphirMatt models use a matt black hob surface rather than conventional glossy black glass. AEG describes the finish as fingerprint resistant and more resistant to visible scratching than its standard ceramic-glass surface.

SaphirMatt is a surface treatment rather than a different cooking technology. Models with the finish still use induction and may also include features such as Bridge, FlexiBridge, MultiBridge or assisted cooking depending on the individual hob.

AEG induction extractor hobs

An AEG induction extractor hob combines induction cooking with an extractor built into the hob itself. Vapour is drawn downwards at worktop level, which can remove the need for a cooker hood positioned above the cooking area.

This makes extractor hobs particularly relevant to kitchen islands and layouts where an overhead hood would be impractical. They require more cabinet space below the worktop than a conventional induction hob, so check the installation drawing before ordering.

Ducted or recirculating extraction

Extraction configuration varies by model. Some AEG extractor hobs support both ducted and recirculating installation, while selected models are designed for recirculation only. Check whether ducting, filters or recirculation components are included or required separately for the exact appliance.

Extractor filters and maintenance

Integrated extractor models include grease and odour filtration that needs routine cleaning, replacement or regeneration depending on the filter type. Follow the maintenance instructions for the individual model to maintain airflow and odour removal.

Induction hob installation and electrical requirements

AEG induction hobs are built into the worktop and many current models require a hardwired electrical connection. Check the electrical loading, cable requirements and manufacturer's installation instructions for the individual hob before purchase.

Worktop cut-out dimensions are equally important. Do not assume that an existing 60cm or 80cm cut-out will fit every replacement hob of the same nominal width. Flush-mounted installations can also require different worktop preparation from conventional surface mounting.

Which pans work on an AEG induction hob?

Induction cooking requires cookware with a magnetic base. Cast iron and many stainless-steel pans are compatible, while aluminium, copper and glass cookware generally require a suitable magnetic induction base.

A simple check is whether a magnet sticks firmly to the base of the pan. Pan diameter should also suit the cooking zone or flexible cooking area for reliable detection and efficient heat transfer.

AEG induction hob FAQs

What sizes of AEG induction hob are available?

The current range includes models marketed around 60cm, 70cm, 80cm and 90cm widths. Always check the exact appliance and worktop cut-out dimensions because nominal width is only a shopping category.

What is the difference between Bridge and FlexiBridge?

Bridge links two predefined cooking zones into one larger area. FlexiBridge uses several induction segments that can be combined in different configurations, giving greater flexibility for differently sized cookware.

What is AEG TotalFlex?

TotalFlex provides a more flexible induction cooking surface that allows compatible cookware to be positioned with less dependence on fixed conventional cooking zones.

What does AEG SenseBoil do?

SenseBoil detects rising bubbles as water reaches boiling point and automatically adjusts the power towards a controlled simmer. It is available only on selected AEG induction hobs.

What is SaphirMatt?

SaphirMatt is AEG's matt black hob surface. It is designed to resist fingerprints and provide greater resistance to visible scratching than the brand's standard ceramic-glass hob surface.

Does Hob2Hood mean the hob has Wi-Fi?

No. Hob2Hood is communication between a compatible hob and compatible cooker hood so that extraction can respond to cooking activity. It should not be treated as general app or Wi-Fi connectivity.

What is an AEG induction extractor hob?

It combines induction cooking and extraction in one appliance. The extractor draws cooking vapour down through the hob, with installation using ducted extraction, recirculation or a model-specific configuration.

Can every AEG extractor hob be ducted outside?

No. Extraction options differ by model. Some support both ducted and recirculating configurations, while selected models are recirculation only. Check the individual product specification before planning the kitchen cabinetry or duct route.

Do AEG induction hobs need to be hardwired?

Many current AEG induction hobs require a hardwired electrical connection. Always check the exact electrical loading and installation requirements for the selected model and use an appropriately qualified installer.

Can I replace an old 60cm hob with any AEG 60cm induction hob?

Not automatically. Compare the new appliance's exact width, depth, cut-out dimensions and clearance requirements with the existing worktop opening before ordering.
