AEG NIK85M00AZ 6000 MultiBridge SaphirMatt® Induction Hob 80cm combines five-zone flexibility with durable, scratch-resistant matt black glass.
The AEG NIK85M00AZ 6000 MultiBridge SaphirMatt® induction hob features 5 cooking zones, responsive touch controls, DoubleBridge flexibility, PowerBoost and Hob2Hood® technology. Its elegant matt black finish provides a fingerprint-resistant surface designed for everyday cooking and larger meals.
Flexible 5-Zone Induction Cooking with DoubleBridge
The 6000 Bridge Induction Hob is designed to accommodate larger pots, pans and long cookware. The Bridging function combines 2 cooking zones, allowing linked zones to share the same temperature and time settings.
DoubleBridge provides additional flexibility by combining two cooking zones on two different areas of the hob. Zones can be linked on both sides, making it easier to accommodate cookware of various sizes while keeping temperature and timer settings aligned.
SaphirMatt® Scratch-Resistant Matt Black Surface
SaphirMatt® gives this AEG induction hob a modern matt black appearance while providing the brand’s most scratch-resistant hob surface. The fingerprint-resistant finish is up to 10X more scratch-resistant than a standard hob surface, helping maintain its minimalist appearance during regular use.
*Abrasion testing was conducted externally in accordance with IEC 60068-2-70. Scratch visibility was assessed internally against AEG standard ceramic glass hobs without special treatment.
Heat Memory for Convenient Cooking
Heat Memory remembers your cooking settings for 120 seconds. If you need to lift a pan or deal with a small spill, the user interface retains the settings so you can continue cooking without having to reset the power level.
The Pause function also allows you to take short breaks without losing your cooking settings.
Hob2Hood® Automatic Cooker Hood Control
Hob2Hood® connects the induction hob with a compatible cooker hood and automatically adjusts the hood fan speed according to the cooking heat. This provides powerful extraction when searing and quieter extraction when simmering, without the need to adjust the hood manually.
PowerBoost for Faster Heating
PowerBoost provides an instant increase in temperature when extra heat is required. Each of the five cooking zones offers 2300W of power with PowerBoost up to 3200W, making the function ideal for rapidly heating cookware and boiling a large pot of water.
PowerBoost allows water to boil in less than 90 seconds.
Timers, Safety and Energy-Saving Functions
The AEG NIK85M00AZ includes a timer with safety lock, Child Lock safety function and Automatic Switch Off for added control and confidence while cooking.
The Minute Minder can be set to remind you when dishes have finished cooking, while Individual Zone Timers let you set a separate timer for each cooking zone.
EcoTimer™ helps save energy by using residual heat from the hob. It switches the cooking zone off before the end of the set timer to improve efficiency.
OptiFix™ Installation
OptiFix™ provides a one-step hob installation system made possible by a custom-made, fully automated process. The hob requires a hardwired electrical connection.

Frequently Asked Questions About the NIK85M00AZ
Is the AEG NIK85M00AZ a good choice for larger pans and family cooking?
Yes. The AEG NIK85M00AZ is designed for flexible cooking with five induction zones and a DoubleBridge function. This lets you combine two zones on either side of the hob, which is useful for larger pans, griddles and cookware that needs a wider cooking area.
What size is the AEG NIK85M00AZ?
The AEG NIK85M00AZ is an 80cm induction hob. Its overall dimensions are 800mm wide by 520mm deep, with built-in dimensions of 44 x 750 x 490mm. This makes it a good fit for kitchens looking for a wider hob with more cooking space than a standard 60cm model.
Does the AEG NIK85M00AZ have a scratch-resistant finish?
Yes. This model features AEG’s SaphirMatt surface in matt black. It is designed to be more resistant to visible scratching than a standard hob surface, while also helping reduce the appearance of fingerprints for an easier-to-maintain finish.
Does the AEG NIK85M00AZ work with a compatible cooker hood?
Yes. The AEG NIK85M00AZ includes Hob2Hood, which allows the hob to communicate with a compatible cooker hood. The hood can then adjust extraction levels automatically to match the cooking intensity, which helps keep the kitchen comfortable while you cook.
Does the AEG NIK85M00AZ have a boost function for faster heating?
Yes. This model includes PowerBoost, which gives an instant burst of extra heat when you need faster results. It is especially useful for quickly bringing pans of water up to the boil or speeding up high-heat cooking tasks.
What controls and safety features does the AEG NIK85M00AZ have?
The AEG NIK85M00AZ uses touch controls and includes practical safety features such as a child lock and automatic switch off. It also includes pause functionality, which is useful if you need to briefly interrupt cooking without losing your settings.
Does the AEG NIK85M00AZ have timers for each cooking zone?
Yes. This model includes individual zone timers, along with a minute minder and EcoTimer. This gives you more control when cooking multiple dishes at the same time and helps with more precise timing.
What is Heat Memory on the AEG NIK85M00AZ?
Heat Memory is designed to make cooking interruptions less frustrating. If you lift a pan or need to clean up a spill, the AEG NIK85M00AZ can remember your settings for up to 120 seconds, so you can continue cooking without having to reset the power level straight away.
Does the AEG NIK85M00AZ need to be hardwired?
Yes. The AEG NIK85M00AZ is a hardwired connection only model rather than a plug-in hob. For that reason, we would recommend professional installation to make sure it is fitted correctly and safely.
Does the AEG NIK85M00AZ include assisted cooking sensors?
No. This model does not include assisted cooking sensors. If you are looking for a hob with flexible bridge cooking, Hob2Hood and a durable SaphirMatt surface, the AEG NIK85M00AZ offers those features without sensor-led assisted cooking programmes.
