Single or Double DishDrawer?

A Single DishDrawer uses one pull-out washing compartment. It can suit smaller regular loads or kitchens where dishwashing is distributed between different areas. Selected Tall models provide additional internal height for larger plates and cookware.

A Double DishDrawer places two independently controlled dishwasher drawers in a full-height installation. The drawers can be loaded and operated separately, so you can wash a smaller load in one drawer without waiting to fill both or use different programmes for different types of crockery.

Fisher & Paykel integrated dishwashers are designed to sit behind a matching kitchen furniture panel. Panel-ready models are supplied without the decorative furniture front, so check whether you will use a bespoke kitchen panel or a compatible Fisher & Paykel accessory panel and handle.

Confirm panel dimensions and weight, appliance height, cabinet opening, kickstrip arrangement and handle requirements before cabinetry is manufactured. Do not assume that a photograph showing a finished panel means that panel is supplied with the base appliance.

Built-under and Contemporary models

Fisher & Paykel also offers built-under DishDrawer models with their own finished appliance fronts. These install beneath the worktop but remain visible rather than sitting behind a kitchen furniture door.

Finishes vary by model and can include stainless steel, black stainless steel and black glass. Because the appliance front remains visible, finish is a meaningful buying choice rather than a cosmetic detail hidden behind cabinetry.

What is a Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer?

DishDrawer is Fisher & Paykel's drawer-format dishwasher system. Instead of opening a full-height drop-down door, the washing compartment pulls out like a kitchen drawer.

The two drawers in a Double DishDrawer operate independently. You can run one drawer for a smaller load, use both drawers together or select different wash programmes for different loads.

Standard and Tall DishDrawer models

Tall DishDrawer models provide additional internal height for larger plates and cookware. The overall appliance height and cabinet requirements also vary between Single, Tall Single and Tall Double designs, so the word “Tall” should be treated as an installation distinction as well as a capacity feature.

Always use the installation drawing for the exact model. Most products are in the nominal 60cm width class, but actual widths are typically slightly below 600mm and heights vary considerably between configurations.

Place settings and loading capacity

Compare place settings together with the dishwasher configuration. A Double DishDrawer divides its capacity between two separate drawers, while a conventional full-height dishwasher provides one larger cavity with upper and lower baskets.

Also check maximum plate diameter and racking flexibility. Selected DishDrawer models provide fold-down tines, adjustable cup racks and wine-glass supports, while Fisher & Paykel's conventional integrated models use adjustable baskets and full-width cutlery trays.

Cutlery basket or cutlery tray?

DishDrawer models generally use a removable cutlery basket within the drawer. This suits the drawer format and allows the basket to be removed when unloading.

The conventional Fisher & Paykel integrated dishwashers use a dedicated upper cutlery and utensil tray. This keeps smaller items separate and leaves additional space within the main baskets.

SmartHQ connected dishwashers
