AEG Ovens – Built-In Single, Double & Combination Ovens

Shop AEG built-in ovens for everyday baking, roasting and grilling, with single and double ovens, steam-assisted models and compact combination ovens available across the current range. Compare the oven format first, then choose the cooking technology, cleaning system, capacity and controls that suit how you cook.

AEG's current built-in range includes standard 60cm ovens and compact 45cm appliances. Selected models add pyrolytic self-cleaning, food sensors, steam cooking and connected controls, while simpler ovens retain conventional rotary controls and steam-assisted cleaning.

Choose your AEG oven type

  • AEG single ovens: one main cavity for standard built-in installations, with current models offering capacities around 70 to 72 litres across much of the range.
  • AEG double ovens: two separate cavities for cooking dishes at different temperatures or using the grill and main oven independently.
  • AEG steam-assisted ovens: use moisture alongside conventional heat, including selected SteamCrisp models for baking and roasting.
  • AEG SteamPro ovens: provide more extensive steam cooking, including full steam and selected sous-vide functions as well as conventional oven heat.
  • AEG compact combination ovens: approximately 45cm-high appliances combining microwave cooking with conventional oven functions such as hot air, baking, roasting and grilling.

How to choose an AEG oven

Single, double or compact combination?

A single oven is the most straightforward choice for a standard tall-unit or under-counter oven position. Current AEG single ovens commonly provide one large cavity with fan cooking, grilling and multiple shelf positions.

A double oven provides two independently usable cavities. This is useful when dishes need different temperatures or when you want to use the grill without occupying the main oven.

A compact combination oven is different from a microwave-only appliance. AEG CombiQuick models combine microwave technology with genuine oven functions such as hot air, grilling, baking and roasting. They normally use a shorter 45cm installation height and are often paired with a full-size oven in a bank of built-in appliances.

Features vary within each series, so the series number should be used as a starting point rather than treated as a complete specification. Check the individual oven for steam functions, cleaning system, connectivity and included accessories.

AEG steam cooking explained

SteamCrisp

SteamCrisp combines conventional hot air with added steam during cooking. It is designed for food where moisture inside and browning outside are both important, such as roasting, bread and selected baked dishes. It is still fundamentally a multifunction oven rather than a full dedicated steam appliance.

SteamPro

SteamPro provides a wider range of steam levels and can use full steam as well as combinations of steam and dry heat. Current 8000 and 9000 SteamPro models can steam, bake, roast and reheat, with selected models also supporting sous-vide cooking.

Steam cleaning is not the same as steam cooking

An oven can use steam for cleaning without offering steam cooking. AEG AquaClean uses moisture to soften residue so that the cavity is easier to wipe out. SteamPro ovens can also use a dedicated steam-cleaning programme, but the cooking and cleaning specifications should be compared separately.

AEG oven cleaning systems

Pyrolytic cleaning

Pyrolytic ovens use a high-temperature cleaning cycle to reduce grease and baked-on food residue to ash. After the cycle has cooled, the remaining ash can be wiped from the cavity.

Catalytic cleaning

Catalytic liners use a special coating that absorbs grease and helps break it down when the oven reaches the required temperature. Current AEG double ovens are available with catalytic cleaning.

AquaClean and steam cleaning

AquaClean uses moisture inside the oven to soften grease and food residue before it is wiped away manually. It requires more routine wiping than pyrolytic cleaning but avoids the high-temperature cleaning cycle.

Selected SteamPro ovens use a dedicated Steam Cleaning programme. This should be shown separately from AquaClean in product filters because they belong to different product families and should not be confused with steam cooking capability.

Food Sensor and assisted cooking

Selected AEG SenseCook, MealAssist and ProAssist ovens use a Food Sensor to monitor the internal temperature of food. This is particularly useful for meat and other dishes where core temperature is more useful than judging cooking time alone.

MealAssist and ProAssist models can also provide guided settings through their displays. Current CookSmart Touch and CookSmart Touch+ models offer assisted cooking functions and selected connected features through the AEG app.

AEG AirFry ovens

Selected AEG ovens include an AirFry function and perforated AirFry tray. The tray allows hot air to circulate around food more effectively, helping crisp foods such as chips, vegetables and chicken without requiring a separate countertop air fryer.

AirFry does not change the basic installation requirements of the oven. Compare cavity size, cleaning system and electrical connection as normal.

Installation and dimensions

AEG built-in ovens are available in standard full-height and compact formats. A typical current full-size AEG single oven is approximately 594mm high and requires a cabinet aperture around 590mm high, while compact combination models use an installation height around 450mm. Exact dimensions vary by product.

Check the complete installation drawing before ordering. Appliance width alone does not confirm compatibility: cabinet aperture, depth, ventilation and electrical loading must also match.

Many current AEG full-size ovens require a hardwired electrical connection. For example, current multifunction ovens can have loads above 3kW, while double ovens can have substantially higher connected loads. Electrical installation should therefore be checked against the individual model rather than assumed from an existing oven.

Capacity and energy ratings

Current full-size AEG single ovens commonly provide cavities of around 70 to 72 litres. Compact microwave combination ovens are smaller; for example, current CombiQuick models can use a 44-litre cavity.

Energy ratings apply to oven cavities and are not normally provided for microwave-only products or warming drawers in the same way. On double ovens, also check the specification of each cavity rather than relying only on one headline figure.

AEG ovens with smart connectivity

Connectivity is available on selected AEG ovens rather than the complete range. Connected models can work with the AEG app for compatible functions, while newer MealAssist and ProAssist models can use CookSmart Touch interfaces and selected app-based recipe features.

If connectivity is not important, compare the oven primarily on cooking functions, cleaning, cavity size and installation requirements rather than choosing purely on the Smart Appliance field.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between AEG SteamCrisp and SteamPro?

SteamCrisp adds steam to conventional hot-air cooking and is designed particularly for baking and roasting where a crisp exterior and moist interior are useful. SteamPro provides more extensive steam functions, including full steam cooking and selected sous-vide programmes as well as conventional oven cooking.

What is AEG SurroundCook?

SurroundCook is AEG's hot-air cooking system. An additional heating ring and fan help distribute heat around the cavity so food can cook more evenly across multiple shelf positions.

What does the AEG Food Sensor do?

The Food Sensor measures the internal temperature of food while it cooks. The oven can notify you when the selected target temperature has been reached, reducing reliance on cooking time alone.

What is the difference between pyrolytic and AquaClean?

Pyrolytic cleaning uses very high temperatures to turn cooking residue into ash. AquaClean uses moisture to soften residue so that it can be wiped away more easily. AquaClean therefore still requires manual wiping after the programme.

Are all AEG ovens smart?

No. Connectivity is available on selected models. Many simpler AEG ovens use conventional rotary and touch controls without app connectivity, while selected current models can be controlled or monitored through compatible AEG connected features.

Can an AEG microwave combination oven replace a normal oven?

Selected CombiQuick models have genuine hot-air, baking, roasting and grilling functions as well as microwave cooking, so they can perform many conventional oven tasks. Their compact cavity is smaller than a standard full-size oven, so capacity and tray size should be checked before using one as the only oven.

Does an AEG built-in oven need to be hardwired?

Many current full-size models do. Electrical requirements vary by oven, particularly between single, double and compact products, so check the manufacturer's total connected load and installation specification before purchase.

What size cabinet do I need for an AEG oven?

Full-size AEG ovens are generally designed around a standard 60cm-wide built-in installation, while compact models use a shorter approximately 45cm appliance height. Exact niche height, width, depth and ventilation requirements must be taken from the individual installation drawing.
