Which Professional Plus hob should you choose?
Professional Plus dual fuel
The dual-fuel model combines electric ovens with a five-burner gas hob. Its cast-iron pan supports provide a stable cooking surface and the multi-ring wok burner gives a higher-output flame for larger pans and wok cooking. This version requires both an appropriate gas supply and the electrical connection specified by Rangemaster.
Professional Plus ceramic
The ceramic version is fully electric and uses five radiant cooking zones beneath a smooth glass hob. Hot-hob indicators show when the cooking surface remains hot after use. Ceramic cooking does not require induction-compatible pans, but the appliance has a substantially higher electrical load than the dual-fuel version, so the proposed electrical supply should be checked before ordering.
Professional Plus induction
The induction version has five cooking zones and heats compatible magnetic cookware directly. Power Boost provides additional output when rapid heating is required, while two low-temperature settings provide controlled lower heat. The hob also includes hot-hob indicators, a child lock and overheat detection. Check that your cookware is induction compatible and that the required electrical supply is available before installation.
Two ovens and a separate grill
All current Professional Plus 90 models use the same basic cooking layout. The left-hand electric oven has a 79-litre capacity and the right-hand oven has a 67-litre capacity. Both are fanned ovens and both carry an A energy rating.
A separate electric grill provides full-width and half-width grilling without occupying either main oven. This is useful when several dishes need to be prepared at different temperatures or when one oven is already in use.
Professional Plus oven equipment
The left oven includes catalytic side liners. These are designed to absorb grease deposits during cooking, reducing the amount of manual cleaning required on the lined surfaces.
Handyrack attaches the roasting tray to the oven door so that it moves forwards as the door opens. This makes it easier to inspect or remove a roast without reaching as far into the hot oven.
The left-hand oven also has a programmable clock, allowing timed cooking to be set when required.
Dimensions and installation
Every Professional Plus cooker currently listed here is 900mm wide and has an adjustable height of approximately 905mm to 930mm. Depth varies slightly by hob type, so use the specification for the exact model rather than planning the kitchen opening from the nominal 90cm description alone.
Installation requirements differ significantly. The dual-fuel version needs a suitable gas connection as well as electricity, while the ceramic and induction versions have maximum electrical loads of approximately 14.8kW. Have the proposed services checked by an appropriately qualified installer before delivery.
Professional Plus colours
Black, Cream and Stainless Steel are currently available across all three hob configurations. Cranberry is currently listed on the dual-fuel and induction versions. All current models on this page use Chrome trim.
Rangemaster Professional Plus FAQs
What is the difference between Professional Plus dual fuel, ceramic and induction?
The oven arrangement is essentially the same. The main difference is the hob. Dual fuel uses gas burners, ceramic uses radiant electric zones beneath a glass surface, and induction heats compatible magnetic cookware directly. Installation requirements also differ, particularly between gas and high-load electric models.
How wide is a Rangemaster Professional Plus 90?
The Professional Plus 90 models currently listed by Appliance Superstore are 900mm wide. Height can be adjusted between approximately 905mm and 930mm, while depth varies slightly according to hob type.
Does the Professional Plus 90 have two ovens?
Yes. Current models have a 79-litre fanned left oven and a 67-litre fanned right oven, plus a separate electric grill.
Are the Professional Plus ovens multifunction?
No. The current Professional Plus 90 models listed here use fanned ovens with one cooking function in each main cavity. Buyers wanting a Rangemaster with a multifunction oven should compare other collections rather than assuming all Professional models use the same oven specification.
What is the difference between Professional Plus and Professional Plus FX?
The standard Professional Plus models on this page use two permanently separate ovens and a separate grill. Professional Plus FX and FXP models use a different oven layout built around a large adaptable cooking cavity and an Energy Saving Panel, so they serve a different cooking preference rather than simply being another colour or fuel variation.
What warranty does a Rangemaster Professional Plus cooker have?
Rangemaster currently states that its cooking appliances receive a full two-year manufacturer's warranty when registered within 30 days of delivery. Separate promotional extended warranties have their own eligibility rules and should be checked for the exact cooker before purchase.
