Shop large built-in fridge freezers and integrated fridges designed for kitchens that need more storage than a conventional integrated appliance can provide. Before ordering, compare the appliance dimensions with the required cabinet niche. These larger models do not use one standard housing size: widths, niche heights, ventilation requirements, door-front weights and plumbing requirements vary significantly between models.

Shop large integrated fridge freezers

Large integrated fridge freezers are useful where a conventional 54cm or 60cm-wide built-in appliance does not provide enough storage. Current models start with wider approximately 70cm designs and extend to substantial 90cm-class appliances with capacities well above those of many standard integrated fridge freezers.

The right model depends on more than total litres. Compare how much space is allocated to fresh food and frozen food, the internal drawer layout, the appliance width and the cabinet opening required.

70cm and XXL integrated fridge freezers

The AEG NSC7T751ES and Miele KFN 7934 D provide a step up from standard-width integrated refrigeration without moving to a full 90cm MasterCool-style installation.

The Miele KFN 7934 D uses a 194cm niche and provides 382 litres of usable storage. DailyFresh provides a moisture-controlled drawer for fruit and vegetables, while DynaCool circulates chilled air through the refrigerator. NoFrost prevents significant ice build-up in the freezer, removing the need for routine manual defrosting.

75cm and 90cm MasterCool refrigeration

Miele MasterCool models are designed for substantially larger built-in installations. The K 2802 Vi is a dedicated 75.6cm-wide refrigerator, while the K 2902 Vi increases the width to 90.8cm and provides 579 litres of chilled storage.

The KFMC fridge freezers combine chilled and frozen storage. The KFMC 3834 models are approximately 75.6cm wide, while KFMC 3844 models are approximately 89.5cm wide. Left- and right-hand hinge versions are sold separately on the single-door models, so the correct orientation should be selected when the kitchen is designed.

Current MasterCool models use fixed furniture-door installation. Features vary by generation, but models in the current range include Miele@home connectivity, food-storage drawers, NoFrost freezing and mains-connected IceMaker systems where specified.

90cm built-in French-door refrigeration

The Bertazzoni RFD90S5FPNS and Miele KFMC 3844 FD provide a wide built-in French-door format. This type of appliance needs substantially more cabinet width than a conventional integrated fridge freezer, so both appliance dimensions and manufacturer niche drawings should be checked before furniture is ordered.

The Bertazzoni model provides 389 litres of refrigerator space and 157 litres of freezer capacity. It uses Total No Frost cooling and includes both an automatic ice maker and an internal water dispenser. The base appliance is panel-ready, so decorative door panels and the appropriate handles need to be allowed for separately.

Check the installation niche before buying

Large built-in refrigeration is not based around one standard cabinet size. A model described as 70cm, 75cm or 90cm wide will normally require a slightly larger installation niche than the appliance itself.

Check the manufacturer's installation drawing for the exact niche width, height and depth. Also check ventilation openings, maximum furniture-door weight, hinge orientation and any space required for doors or drawers to open fully.

Fixed hinge or sliding hinge?

Most of the larger Miele models on this page use a fixed furniture-door system, where the kitchen door is attached directly to the appliance door. The AEG model uses a different sliding-door installation arrangement. The cabinet furniture must therefore be designed for the hinge system of the exact model being installed.

Do large built-in fridge freezers need plumbing?

Some do. Models with automatic ice making or water dispensing may need a permanent mains water connection. The Bertazzoni French-door model includes an internal water dispenser and automatic ice maker, while selected Miele MasterCool fridge freezers use a mains-connected IceMaker. Large built-in fridge versus fridge freezer

Choose a dedicated built-in fridge such as the Miele K 2802 Vi or K 2902 Vi when maximum fresh-food storage is the priority or when the refrigerator will be paired with a separate built-in freezer. Choose a fridge freezer when you want chilled and frozen storage within one appliance.

Separate refrigeration columns can provide very high overall capacity, but they require significantly more cabinet width and should be planned at the kitchen-design stage.
