BORA Lighting – Horizon & Stars Pendant Lights

BORA Horizon Pendant Lighting
BORA Horizon is a horizontal linear pendant designed to provide both direct task lighting and indirect ambient lighting. The direct and indirect light sources can be controlled together or separately, making Horizon suitable above a cooktop or kitchen island as well as above a dining table.
Five colour-temperature settings allow the light to move between warm and cooler white tones from 2700K to 5000K. Brightness is continuously dimmable, while gesture control can switch the light on or off, adjust brightness, change colour temperature and control the relationship between the direct and indirect light sources.
BORA Horizon Fixed or Move?
The Horizon Fixed and Horizon Move versions use the same fundamental lighting system but differ in how the suspended height is adjusted.
With Horizon Fixed, the height is set using the stop beads in the ceiling housing. Horizon Move allows the height to be adjusted directly at the light fixture, making it useful where the pendant height may need to be changed more easily after installation.
The Horizon light fixture is approximately 1259mm wide, so its position should be considered alongside the width of the kitchen island, cooktop or dining table before the electrical point and ceiling housing are installed.
BORA Stars Pendant Lighting
BORA Stars uses narrow vertical LED pendants to provide focused downward light. The system can be specified as an individual pendant or as a coordinated three-light arrangement, allowing the lighting layout to suit different worktops, islands and dining areas.
Stars uses warm-white 2700K light with a colour rendering index above 90, helping colours and materials appear natural under the light.
Single BORA Stars: Surface-Mounted or Built-In
Single BORA Stars pendants are available in two ceiling-installation formats. The surface-mounted version uses a visible ceiling housing, while the built-in version uses a recessed installation for a more discreet transition into the ceiling.
The single-light versions are not dimmable, so they are best selected where fixed-output task or accent lighting is appropriate. Multiple individual lights can still be planned as part of a wider lighting scheme.
Three-Light BORA Stars: Linear or Circular
The three-light Stars system is available with the pendants arranged either in a straight line or around a circular ceiling housing. Linear layouts work particularly well along rectangular kitchen islands and dining tables, while the circular arrangement provides a more compact grouped layout.
Unlike the single Stars pendants, the three-light versions are dimmable. They use pushbutton or DALI lighting control, so the appropriate switch, control gear and electrical installation should be considered during the kitchen and lighting design stage.
BORA Lighting Colours
BORA Horizon and BORA Stars are available in black, moss green and rose gold. The colour changes the visible pendant and housing finish rather than the fundamental lighting performance, so choose the lighting format and installation first and the finish second.
Planning and Installation
BORA Horizon and Stars are mains-powered pendant lights intended for fixed electrical installation. Ceiling construction, electrical supply, pendant position and suspension height should be planned before installation, particularly above kitchen islands and cooktops where the light needs to work alongside cabinetry and cooking appliances.
Horizon and the surface-mounted Stars versions use ceiling housings fixed below the ceiling. Recessed Stars requires a suitable ceiling installation space. Three-light Stars systems also need the correct lighting controls if dimming is required.
Dimming and Lighting Controls
Control differs substantially between the two BORA lighting families. Horizon uses gesture control and combines variable brightness with selectable colour temperature. Three-light Stars systems use conventional pushbutton or DALI control and remain at a fixed warm-white colour temperature. Single Stars pendants are not dimmable.
This distinction should be considered before purchase because changing the finish does not change the controls: the required functionality is determined by the Horizon or Stars configuration itself.
