Our Recommended Miele Washing Machines
Best Overall: Miele WEJ885 WCS
The Miele WEJ885 WCS is our Best Overall choice for households looking for a balance of washing performance, convenience and fabric care.
Its 9kg drum provides capacity for everyday family laundry, while the 1600rpm maximum spin helps remove moisture from suitable loads before drying. TwinDos automatically dispenses compatible detergent during supported programmes, reducing the need for manual measuring.
QuickPowerWash provides a fast 49-minute wash for suitable loads, while SteamCare helps reduce creasing and refresh garments. With PowerWash, Miele@home connectivity and an A energy efficiency rating, the WEJ885 brings together several useful features in one freestanding washing machine.
It's our preferred all-round option for buyers who want automatic detergent dosing, steam fabric care and a higher maximum spin speed without moving to the premium M Touch controls of the WER865 WPS.
Best Straightforward Option: Miele WEA125 WCS
The Miele WEA125 WCS is a practical choice for households that want dependable everyday washing without additional automatic detergent dispensing features. Its 8kg capacity and 1400rpm maximum spin are suitable for a wide range of regular laundry requirements.
Features include Miele's Honeycomb Drum, CapDosing and AddLoad, making it worth considering if you prioritise simple operation and essential fabric-care functions.
Best Without TwinDos: Miele WED385 WCS
The Miele WED385 WCS offers a 9kg capacity, 1400rpm maximum spin, PowerWash, QuickPowerWash and SteamCare. It also supports Miele@home connectivity.
It's a strong alternative for households that want advanced washing and fabric-care programmes but prefer measuring and adding their own detergent rather than using TwinDos automatic dispensing.
Best for Larger Loads: Miele WEK365 WCS
The Miele WEK365 WCS features a 10kg drum, making it worth considering for households that regularly wash larger loads, family laundry or suitable bulky items.
Its 1400rpm maximum spin is complemented by PowerWash, QuickPowerWash and Pre-ironing. It uses manual detergent dosing rather than TwinDos, making the decision between the WEK365 and WEJ885 largely a choice between extra drum capacity and additional automatic dosing and fabric-care convenience.
Best 1400rpm TwinDos Alternative: Miele WEG885 WCS
The Miele WEG885 WCS remains an excellent option for customers wanting TwinDos automatic detergent dispensing, PowerWash, QuickPowerWash and SteamCare in a 9kg washing machine.
It shares several key features with our Best Overall choice, the WEJ885, but has a lower maximum spin speed of 1400rpm. It's worth comparing both models if automatic dosing is a priority but 1600rpm spinning is not essential.
Best Premium Option: Miele WER865 WPS
The Miele WER865 WPS is suited to buyers looking for premium controls and additional water protection. It combines a 9kg drum and 1600rpm maximum spin with TwinDos automatic detergent dispensing, PowerWash and M Touch touchscreen operation.
It also features Miele's Waterproof System for enhanced protection around the incoming water supply. The WER865 is worth considering if its additional controls and protection features justify the higher purchase price for your household.
How to Choose the Best Miele Washing Machine
What Drum Capacity Do You Need?
An 8kg drum can suit smaller households, while 9kg provides additional flexibility for families, towels and bedding. A 10kg machine such as the WEK365 is worth considering for frequent larger loads. Always check programme-specific load limits.
Is TwinDos Worth It?
TwinDos automatically dispenses compatible liquid detergent during supported programmes, reducing manual measuring. Models without TwinDos offer more conventional detergent dosing. The right choice depends on your preferences for convenience, detergent selection and maintenance.
Should You Choose 1400rpm or 1600rpm?
A higher maximum spin speed can remove more moisture from suitable laundry and potentially shorten subsequent drying time. However, individual programmes and delicate fabrics may require lower speeds. Both 1400rpm and 1600rpm machines can be suitable for everyday household washing.
