Choose the right NEFF oven
Your cabinet space and cooking habits are the starting points. A single oven provides one cooking cavity, while a double oven gives you separate compartments for preparing different dishes. Compact ovens suit a shorter housing and can add microwave or steam cooking alongside a main oven.
| Oven type | Why choose it? | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Built-in single oven | One main cavity for everyday baking, roasting and grilling. | Usable capacity, shelf positions, door operation and cleaning system. |
| Built-in double oven | Separate cavities for cooking dishes at different temperatures. | Tall-housing dimensions and the capacity and functions of each cavity. |
| Built-under double oven | Two cooking cavities in a format designed for installation beneath a worktop. | Installation height, ventilation and clearance beneath any hob. |
| Compact oven with microwave | Oven cooking and microwave functions in one appliance. | Convection cooking modes, cavity capacity and compatible cookware. |
| Oven with steam | Steam-assisted baking and roasting, or dedicated steam cooking on suitable models. | Whether the appliance offers added steam or full steam cooking. |
NEFF oven features explained
Slide & Hide doors
On selected NEFF ovens, the door slides beneath the cooking cavity when opened, giving you clearer access when loading dishes or checking food. Check the individual specification for the door mechanism and handle design.
Circo Therm hot-air cooking
Circo Therm circulates hot air for cooking on multiple levels. It is useful when preparing several trays together, but the supported number of levels varies by oven. Follow the model's instructions for shelf positions and suitable settings.
Added steam and full steam cooking
Vario Steam adds moisture during supported cooking modes, helping with dishes such as bread and roast meat. Full Steam and Intensive Steam models also provide dedicated steam cooking. Choose according to how you cook, and check the available programmes, water supply arrangement and descaling requirements.
Pyrolytic cleaning and Easy Clean
Pyrolytic cleaning uses high temperatures to turn cooking residue into ash, which you wipe away once the oven has cooled. Easy Clean uses water and a cleaning programme to soften lighter deposits for wiping. Some ovens offer both. Easy Clean is a cleaning aid and does not mean the oven can steam food.
Home Connect
Selected ovens support Home Connect, providing connected functions through the app. Available features vary by model and may require an internet connection and account setup. Check connectivity in the individual specification.
Flex Design finishes
Selected Flex Design appliances offer a choice of compatible handles and side trims. Check which finishing pieces are included and which need ordering separately, especially when matching an oven with a compact appliance.
Check dimensions, capacity and installation
Full-size single ovens commonly use a nominal 60cm-high format, while compact ovens commonly use a 45cm-high format. These are product format descriptions: the appliance measurements and required cabinet opening must still be checked separately. Built-in and built-under double ovens have different installation requirements.
- Measure the housing: check the required opening height, width, depth and ventilation against the installation drawing.
- Compare usable capacity: consider the dishes and trays you use. For double ovens, compare each cavity separately.
- Check the electrical requirements: confirm the connection rating and installation requirements for the chosen model.
- Check steam installation: confirm whether the model uses a refillable tank or requires a fixed water connection.
- Compare energy information: use the product's published energy label and consumption figures where provided.

NEFF oven FAQs
Do all NEFF ovens have Slide & Hide?
No. Slide & Hide is available on selected models. Check the door specification rather than assuming every NEFF single, double or compact oven has a retracting door.
What is the difference between a built-in and built-under double oven?
A built-in double oven is designed for a suitable tall housing, while a built-under double oven is designed for installation beneath a worktop. Their dimensions and installation requirements differ, so they should not be treated as interchangeable.
Can a NEFF compact microwave oven bake and roast?
A compact combination model with convection heating can perform oven cooking as well as microwave tasks. A conventional microwave, including one with a grill, does not necessarily provide the same cooking functions. Check the heating modes before choosing.
Is Easy Clean the same as pyrolytic cleaning?
No. Easy Clean softens deposits so they can be wiped away. Pyrolytic cleaning uses high temperatures to reduce residue to ash. The available cleaning systems depend on the model.
Does an oven with added steam replace a full steam oven?
Not necessarily. Added steam introduces moisture during supported oven modes. For dedicated steam cooking, choose a model that explicitly offers Full Steam or Intensive Steam.
How do I choose between NEFF N 30, N 50, N 70 and N 90 ovens?
Use the range designation as a starting point, then compare the features of individual models. Prioritise installation dimensions, door operation, cooking functions, cleaning and controls rather than assuming every oven within a range has the same specification.
