The Miele G 5811 SC Active Plus is worth considering if you want 14 place settings, a 3D MultiFlex cutlery tray and quieter 43dB(A) operation. For narrower kitchens, the G 5740 SC SL provides a 45cm freestanding alternative with nine place settings.
Miele G5000 Fully Integrated Dishwashers

Miele G5000 Slimline Dishwashers
The current G5000 collection includes two 45cm slimline models: the freestanding G 5740 SC SL and fully integrated G 5790 SCVi SL. Both provide nine place settings, compared with 13 or 14 on the full-size models.
A slimline dishwasher can be useful where a standard 60cm appliance will not fit. Both current slimline models include QuickPowerWash and AutoOpen drying, although their loading arrangements and energy consumption should be compared with the full-size appliances rather than assumed to be identical.
Miele G5000 Active vs Active Plus
The Active and Active Plus specifications are an important distinction within the G5000 range. Both offer core Miele dishwashing features, including QuickPowerWash and AutoOpen drying, but the current Active Plus models provide additional cutlery-loading flexibility and quieter published operation.

Miele G5000 Cutlery Basket vs Cutlery Tray
Not all Miele G5000 dishwashers use the same cutlery-storage arrangement. Some models include a dedicated tray above the main baskets, while others provide a removable cutlery basket in the lower section.
For example, the G 5651 Vi Active provides 13 place settings with a conventional cutlery basket. The G 5651 SCVi Active offers 14 place settings with a dedicated cutlery tray.
A cutlery tray can free up space in the lower basket and keep utensils separated. A removable cutlery basket may be preferable if you like loading cutlery together or want flexibility in how you arrange the lower basket.
Selected Active Plus models add the adjustable 3D MultiFlex tray, which provides additional flexibility for larger utensils and loading clearance.
Miele G5000 Features

Miele G5000 Energy Efficiency and Noise
Energy efficiency and operating noise vary between G5000 models. The six full-size dishwashers in our current collection are A-rated under the A to G energy scale, while the two 45cm slimline models are C-rated.
Published noise emissions range from 43dB(A) to 45dB(A) across the current selection. The G 5811 and G 5851 Active Plus models are rated at 43dB(A), while several Active models are rated at 45dB(A).
When comparing appliances, check the individual energy label for electricity consumption per 100 ECO cycles, water consumption, programme duration and noise emissions. A dishwasher's range designation alone does not establish its running costs.
