Question 1

What is included with the Mitchell Acoustics uStream Groove?

Accepted Answer

The uStream Groove includes one belt-drive turntable and two black active wireless bookshelf speakers. Together, they form a complete stereo vinyl system without requiring a separate amplifier, receiver or phono stage.

Question 2

Does the uStream Groove need a separate amplifier or phono preamp?

Accepted Answer

No. The turntable has a built-in RIAA phono preamplifier, while each speaker has its own integrated amplifier. The phono preamp can also be switched from the turntable’s rear panel when using compatible external equipment.

Question 3

Are there any cables between the turntable and speakers?

Accepted Answer

No audio, phono or speaker cables are required between the components. The turntable transmits vinyl playback wirelessly, and the two speakers connect to each other using True Wireless Stereo technology.

Question 4

Is the uStream Groove completely cable-free?

Accepted Answer

No. Although there are no signal cables between the turntable and speakers, the turntable and active speakers still require power connections.

Question 5

Which record speeds does the turntable support?

Accepted Answer

The belt-drive turntable plays 33⅓ and 45 rpm records, covering standard albums and most singles. Its auto-stop function stops the platter at the end of a record side.

Question 6

Which cartridge is fitted to the uStream Groove turntable?

Accepted Answer

It is fitted with an Audio-Technica AT91 moving-magnet cartridge. The cartridge is mounted on an aluminium-alloy tonearm with an adjustable counterweight and anti-skate control.

Question 7

How powerful are the included speakers?

Accepted Answer

Each active speaker delivers 35W RMS, giving the complete system a combined rated output of 70W RMS. Each speaker uses a 106mm magnesium-alloy driver and operates as a dedicated left or right stereo channel.

Question 8

Can the uStream Groove play music from a phone or tablet?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The speakers support Bluetooth playback from compatible phones, tablets, computers and other Bluetooth audio sources. This allows the speakers to be used independently when the turntable is not playing.

Question 9

Can the speakers be connected to a television or wired audio source?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In addition to Bluetooth, the speakers support TV ARC and a 3.5mm auxiliary input for compatible televisions and audio devices.

Question 10

Does the uStream Groove work with Alexa or Google Home?

Accepted Answer

The speakers can be used as a Bluetooth playback device with compatible Amazon Alexa or Google Home equipment. Voice-control features are provided by the connected smart-home device rather than being built directly into the turntable.

Question 11

Can the turntable be connected to another audio system?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The turntable has left and right RCA analogue outputs and a switchable built-in phono preamp, allowing it to be connected to compatible powered speakers, amplifiers or receivers.

Question 12

What are the dimensions of the uStream Groove components?

Accepted Answer

The turntable measures approximately 440 × 380 × 135mm. Each bookshelf speaker measures approximately 150 × 200 × 180mm, making the system suitable for shelves, stands or furniture with enough space for safe record playback.

Question 13

What warranty does the Mitchell Acoustics uStream Groove include?

Accepted Answer

The uStream Groove is supplied with a two-year manufacturer’s warranty.
